there were people who lived in the city of omelas. Their only peace and happiness had suffered in the hands of one person. This person had lived in darkness for others. The person would feed on anger and stress from the ones who are feeling desperate and live a lonley life. There are also people whoknow of this person, but cannot come to the rescue. They feel as if they should come and take this person away from the lonliness and darkness - to treat this person with care if it would take away happiness from thousands of people who lived in the city of omelas.
Gilaysha Kirkland
The city of Omelas is the place of perfection with a horrible truth. The people of Omelas live in happiness, there is no anger or sorrow, because the people unleash their displeasure one person. Under the city of Omelas lays a small dark, and damp basement, within that basement a neglected child is held. Some look at the child in disgust and others in sympathy. The ones who feel sorrow for the child can not help, for it would throw their perfect city off balance. These people can not live there knowing the child, scared and lonely, lives under thier feet, and leave the city.
Ally Johnson
The citizens of the city of Omelas appeared to be very happy people. But at the root of their happiness was a young boy locked in a basement like room. This boy bears misery and sadness just so the citizens of Omelas can be happy. Everyone in the town knows about him but there isn't much anyone can do for the poor child. If they were to help or speak just one knid word to the boy, the happiness of the wlll faulter completley. Kayla Lacotta
The city of Omelas is an almost perfect city where everybody is happy. There is no true source of conflict for the citizens except for one child that is locked away in a broom closet. He or she is the only person that has suffering or pain while everybody else is prosperous in what they do. There is an exception to this as when the citizens are told of this child, some choose to walk away from the city and towards the mountains. These people are sympathetic and see that there is no way to free the child leaving them with two choices; leave the city or stay.
Dylan Menard
Omelas is a city of perfection. All are sophisticated, and all lead a simple life, of which they enjoy. Though simplicit, none are ignorent or lacking culture. War seems an impossibility, and life is treated neither burden or miracle, but as a joyous activity. In order for peace to continue, however, a child must remain locked away, never to smell freedom. The child is scared, and hungry, and consumed by the guilt and ignorance denied the people of Omelas. All know of the child. While many accept this concept, there are few whom abbandon the city, searching for fairer life somewhere out in the unkown world.

Cynthia Frazier The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas is about a town thats always happy and never have a bad day, well as the author says their world is not like our world. Omelas was perfect above ground but not under. Underground there lives a child boy or girl whose about ten that lives in a basement of a beautiful public building. The child is in fear ,malnutrition ,and neglected. Once in a while people will come visit the child to give the child food and water but the child could only see the eyes. The town of Omelas has this child in the basement because he or she represent the peoples pain and stress.

The ones Who Walk Away From Omelas is a story about a city being happy and joyous all the time. Omelas was a beautiful city and the citizens in Omelas were very happy . While this city sounds too good to be true is because it is not everybody in the city was happy. Locked away in the basement of a building was a child lonely and hopeless but filled with fear and hate towards the others. People from the city would visited the child and none of them would speak to it. Some of the people felt bad for the child would cry and others will leave. They would just walk out city of Omelas the city that was suppose to be happy and joyous.

"The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas" is a story about a rather stragne town, where everyone is happy. It's not a "goody-goody" town, where everything is bright and smiley, but everyone is in their own bliss. The reason this is all possible is because of a child who is unknowingly making a huge sacrifice for the humanity of Omelas. All of the town's anger, hate, sorrow, etc. is put on this child, therefore allowing for their happiness. The people of the town don't socialize with the child, interactions are minimum, and the child is under the impression that they did something wrong. Most people in Omelas feel no sorrow or other feelings for the child since they know of the sacrifice, but there are some who feel that holding the child is wrong, and they are the ones who walk away from Omelas.
Cheyenne Brown The story "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas" is about a town that is perfect. This place has no problems or worries. Except one, there is a little boy that is miserable. While everyone is living their perfect lives this child is trapped in a basement by himself. People of the town come to visit the child. After seeing this miserable child some people choose the leave Omelas and go to an unimaginable place.
Tamara Butler
The city of Omelas is a town where all of its citizens are happy. They live without monarchy, slavery, street police, the stock exchange, etc. All is well for the people living in this town, all except one. All happiness is based solely on the misery of one child. A child is locked in a tiny basement with only one meal a day, which consisted of cornmeal and water. He sat in this dirty room so much he grew sore on his legs that made it painful to sit. The citizens of the city were able to visit the child who lived in this cellar and many felt badly but went back to their own happy lives. Although there were a few who didn’t want to live this way anymore and chose to walk away from the city and into the unknown.

The short story "The Ones Who Walk AwayFrom Omelas" is about a small city that is "perfect". In this city everyone is happy and carefree. Well everyone except one child. This child is the city's "sacrafic". The child has been put in solitary confinement just so that the rest of the city may be happy and enjoy their lives. Many people visit the child but they aren't allowed to speak or comfort the child. The thing is some of those who visit the child leave Omelas and never return.

The town of Omelas is proof of dreams. This beautiful town has everything you would ever want or need. All the luxuries of this town comes at a price though. Deep in this town lies a child who is continued in a closet. This child has to suffer to keep the peace within this town. The people who come to see the boy end up not saying a word, but instead they walk around for hours, days, sometimes even leave the town all together. Some would say this town is like a double-edged sword.
Crystal Short The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas is about a city full of citizens thats always happy, mature, intelligent, and passionate. The people is always happy because they push all the bad issues and there problems toward a little boy.A little boy who is stuck in a closet in a basement where people go look, kick, stir, and leave him to sit in his own excrement. For some people who couldnt understand how they would do that to a innocent child who did nothing wrong would go home in tears.Realizing even if he was to be release he wouldn't get much of his freedom. While some people wouldnt go home at all knowing that this little boy was mistreated they would walk right out of omelas and never come back.
Quinton Stewart
There was a place named Omelas. It was known for being the happiest town and there was an innocent boy who is sad and depressed because they won’t let him out. If he was let out it would mess up the town forever by changing the mood. Everybody knew he was there, but they couldn’t let him out because of the consequences.
Darah Thornton The city of Omelas is a beautiful and joyous place in which it's citizens enjoy rich and fullfiling lives. They are free to do as they wish and yet no crime, murder or sadness exist. However, there is a black smudge on the seemingly perfect city. A young child is forever locked away in a dark, dirty closet. It is fed only enough to keep it from starving, given enough water in order for it to stay alive. It is shunned and looked down upon. It is thought throughout the city that this child's suffering is nessesary for the city to be so great and peaceful, though they may not understand. Learning this, some people find it wrong, disgusting and disgraceful and leave Omelas for the terrible state of the child sickens them.
Natasha Todd
In this story of moral dillema, many citizens in the "perfect" city of Omelas are faced with a difficult challenge that forces them to decide what's right. Long ago, Omelas citizens made a collective decision to take all the bad and wrong in their society and have it placed on another person. That person happened to be an innocent child that was taken away from its mother and thrown in a cell, forced to suffer emotionally and physically until death. If a single kind word or deed is said or done to this child, all the evil being held will be released back into the world. Citizens would come visit the child and leave in disgust being forced to realize their happiness only exists because of one harmless and innocent child's suffering. Many made a decision to leave and find a better, more real place to live. However, others decided to stay and live out their lives in Omelas.
Quinton Williamson The blissful city of Omela is a near-perfect utopia, populated by joyful and intelligent citizens. However the city holds one dark secret. The story "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas" is about a small town that lives in happiness, but only because they keep a small boy in a basement with no windows, left to sit in his own excrement, and barely enough food to keep alive. This is a town where people are all happy Called Omelas. They are happy with the best drug, and best festives. They claim all this happiness under one Condition: there has to be a child in abominible misery. He's a child who lives in his own fecies and only survives at the bare minimum. If he's freed the whole town's happiness will be destroyed. There are people who have sympathy for this child and have thoughts of freeing but can't unless they want to be the one to destroyed thousands of people's happiness for just one kid's. It's at this fact some people of Omelas just walk out of town into an unknown darkness. Where is this darkness? What is it?

The story The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas is about a small peaceful town called Omelas. Unlike our world their always happy. They sacrifice one childs life to being tortured so that the rest of society can live happily. Everyone knows that this child life is being sacrifice but they do nothin about it. Those who stay really doesn't care much about the childs life as long as they get to live in happiness. Those who leave doesn't want any part of the town. They believe that its cruel society shouldn't simply sacrifice a childs life to release all happiness for citizens. In other words they believe that everything that happens in society shouldn't be based on one persons life whether its good or bad.
Darion Morton
There is a town were everything is what some people would call happy but I dont think I would call it happy. They lock a child in a basement where its dark, no windows, not enough food and onl eats one meal a day. This paragraph is talking about the responsibility of the ten year old child. The responsibility of the child is, to stay licked in a basement absorbing everybody sins, and living in their misery. “Some of them understand why, and some do not, but they all understand that their happiness, the beauty of their city, the tenderness of their friendships, the health of their children, the wisdom of their scholars, the skill of their makers, even the abundance of their harvest and the kindly weathers of their skies, depend wholly on the child’s abominable misery.” By this the narrator means; the happiness of the citizens of Omelas, and the tenderness of their friendship “depend wholly on the child’s abominable misery.” Is it fare for the citizens of Omelas to treat the child like that? If it is fare; why do you think you have the right to treat a human being like that? What makes you feel like you have the power to treat another person like trash?

There is a town named Omelas were everything is "happy" and what seems perfect but its not "goody two shoes." Everyone is "happy" because of one childs agony. This child lives in a damp basement room with no windows, no one talks to him, has enough food to survive, and can never leave. Everyone visits the child and is told the story of why he is there when the are of age. Some walk away from omelas. When these people leave they leave in silence and never return as they walk into whats described as the mysterious darkness.

The story is about a town called Omelas that lived in peace and happiness but with only one price, and that price is that one person has to be in a dark room with nothing but food and water. Unfortunately that certain person is around boy. He would only be treated with food and water, but no medical attention not much clothes not even daylight. But the message of the story is saying; is if our world (earth) is different than theirs in a cynical type of way.
Duvon Wiley-Brown

In the novel “The Ones Who Walk Away From Omela” there is a town where everything and everyone is happy but at the price of a little boys misery. The town is basically full of individualist and the little boy who is a collectivist, he is like the scape goat of the town and everyone knows he’s there but for him to live in misery is the only way for total happiness. Everyone slowly leaves the town because they just can’t live without having one problem and sooner or later the town becomes vacant.
