Theme Analyses
Each member must submit at least one theme analysis, two of which must be from the following:

Individuality is key to society progressing. Is the theme a from Anthem. In the form of the character Equality. I say this because he either discovered or rediscovered electricity all by himself too me thats a miracle one person by their self discovered something so powerful. He also discovered the secret word all by hiself wich took him a while. If they all work by themselves then stuff would get done alot better and faster

Original invention/creation is key to independence.
- Original inventions is key to independence is shown through the character Equality. Equality shows when he creates light/electricity. He created light by taking a string and a metal poll he found in his secret tunnel, and putting outside during a lightning storm with the string leading to the tunnel. By this he is take the lightning to create electricity for what he need. Like lighting up his tunnel so he can see wail he does his test, some test that would have never got done as a group.

The tone of Anthem is satirical, one of the reasons I said it is satirical is; There's a lot of ridicule and ironic thing going on in the book. One of the moments that stood out to me was when Ayn Rand started writing about how none of the people in the city had ever seen there self, and couldn't because it was forbidden. She started by say having the main character Equality say " Man never see their own faces and never ask their brothers about it, for it is evil to have concern on their own face or bodies." By Ayn Rand is trying to make the city like there aganist individualty. they want everybody in the city to thank as their self as " WE " instead of " I ", so everybody will always feel equal and the only person with power in the councils.

The tone of Anthem is satirical, one of the reasons I said it is satirical is because the author is making fun of the human society. One person goes on their own wile the other street sweepers stay and follow the rules. When Equality shows the light, "terror struck the men of the council. They leapt to their feet, they ran from the table, snd they stood pressed against the wall, huddled togather, seeking the warmth of one another's bodies to give them courage". In this example she is showing how some people in the society are afraid of new things and how dumb some people are when it comes to discovering new things and never let people express their ideas sometimes. This supports the idea that this is satirical, because its ironic how one person out of many people can make a big change in society.
